Description
Always up there as the finest 2 or 3 Sauvignons in Marlborough every year, Greywacke emphasises ripeness in the vineyard to produce a sophisticated and satisfying style of Sauvignon Blanc. Crafted by former Cloudy Bay founding winemaker Kevin Judd, the fruit comes from the Central Wairau and Southern Valleys. It seems the last few vintages have risen to even higher heights and this 2022 is nothing less than stunning. Greywacke deserves to be labelled with ‘Cult Status’.
Smells
A supremely pure and complex bouquet of tropical fruits, passionfruit, guava, and apple with an enticing smoky, grapefruit thread.
Tastes
An impressive and mouth-filling style with texture in equal measures to the boisterous fruit, the finish coming in all stylish and refined. A majestic Sauvignon from the very top drawer, try it with some fresh mussels between now and 2027.
